Salt Lake County is the most populated county in Utah and home to the widest variety of pools in the state. You'll find everything from century-old concrete pools tucked behind Avenues bungalows to massive modern fiberglass installations in Daybreak and Herriman's newest subdivisions. The valley's water supply is notoriously hard. It comes straight from mountain reservoirs loaded with calcium carbonate, which means scaling on tile lines, cloudy water, and equipment wear are constant battles without professional chemical management. Summer heat is intense, with stretches of 95-100 degree days that keep pools in heavy rotation from late May through mid-September. On the flip side, Salt Lake County's inversions and cold winters make hot tubs incredibly popular, and they need year-round maintenance even when the pool is winterized.
